Falling Into a Love Story With Taylor Swift
Just two years after Taylor Swift’s debut into the music world, she released her sophomore album “Fearless.” Then she released it again in 2021. The first of her rerecordings, “Fearless (Taylor’s version)” was the first of its kind.
Swift announced that she would be rerecording every single one of her albums that was owned by her previous manager, Scooter Braun, due to her inability to own her masters. Fearless was announced to be the first of the six rerecordings and along with the same album, six new songs that were written at the same time as the originals but didn’t make the cut for the album.
The lead single is a classic to this day, “Love Story” was one of the best-selling singles of all time and was once the best-selling country song of all time. Today it is still one of her most well-known songs that is guaranteed to be played at parties and weddings.
Keeping a few themes from her first album, there are still a few tracks on her new 13-track record that are about young love, made for the dreamers, and take you right back to high school. Track two walks you through all the feelings of freshman year and will truly make you feel “Fifteen” again. But, the most prevalent song is “You Belong With Me” which tells the tale of a high school girl loving a boy who has a girlfriend. The music video won the MTV Video Music Award for Best Female Video in 2009 and is still considered one of her most iconic with over 1.4 billion views on YouTube.
Taylor Swift - You Belong With Me
“Fearless” also has a few heartbreakers that deal with Swift’s early relationships ending. Whether it be because Joe Jonas broke up with her over the phone which she recalls in “Forever and Always” or an insincere boyfriend with a few secrets that produced a great song to belt in the car, “You’re Not Sorry.”
Taylor Swift - Forever & Always (Fearless Tour)
This album is fondly remembered and a favorite of many fans. This release was when Taylor Swift truly hit her potential to become a star and people were understanding that. She went on her first headlining tour with 105 shows in four different countries! I would recommend “Fearless” to anyone in the mood for some nostalgia, country-pop hits, and incredible storytelling. Everyone was left on the edge of their seat, anxiously waiting to see what Swift would do next.
